Destro, whose full name is Laird James McCullen Destro XXIV, is the leader of the Iron Grenadiers who manufacturers and supplies weapons to Cobra among others. He lives a luxurious lifestyle do to his immense success with his weapons business worldwide. He also has an extreme admiration and love for Baroness. He respects the G.I.JOE's for their combat skills, but despises them for wanting world peace. He also does not like Cobra Commander, but keeps a mutual relationship with him for business purposes. He first appeared in Marvel Comics G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #11 in 1983.
