Will 2016 Be The Year Hasbro Relaunches Their Popular Mighty Muggs Line?

Will 2016 Be The Year Hasbro Relaunches Their Popular Mighty Muggs Line?
Could this be the year Hasbro decides to relaunch their popular, vinyl, collectible line of Mighty Muggs?

We don't think so, but we can dream right?

Up until now, their most recent launch was ROM: The Space Knight, a Marvel Mighty Muggs Exclusive at the July 2014 San Diego Comic-Con.

We would love to see more, but that looks very bleek as the years go on. So let's take it back to the beginning...

These little plastic figures took to the shelves of popular stores back in 2007, starting with Marvel Wave 1 and Star Wars Wave 1. From our own personal experience, the first time we glanced at the oddly-shaped, simple figures, as we cruised through the toy section at Walmart we were hooked. The modern, stylized look of the collectibles made them a must have for us, we just couldn't pass them up. In to the shopping cart went the first wave of Rebel Scum and Empire Villains which included: Boba Fett, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Han Solo and a Stormtrooper! This was the start of our addictive collection of Muggs and the beginning of what would eventually lead to this website www.mightymugg.com!

Our site was launched in the winter of 2008, (view it here on the Way Back Machine). We were so excited about the line Hasbro had released that we wanted a place to talk about and show the world what Mighty Muggs were. Over the years the website has gone through many transitions and it's been a fun ride, which isn't stopping anytime soon! In fact, the website is in the process of getting another makeover. We want to make this the definitive guide about Mighty Muggs on the web. Slowly it will gain more content, images and anything we can find relating to Mighty Muggs around the web. It was started as a fun project and we want to continue to make it just that.

These days it's gotten tougher to find these sought after collectibles and fewer people are making customized Muggs, but you'll still see some pop up on occasion. On a positive note, companies are still creating other vinyl collectibles that have a similar feel to Mighty Muggs, check out: Mez-itz, Pop! Vinyl and Blox. But don't lose hope in finding the Muggs you want, drop by Entertainment Earth and Amazon, you might catch a lucky find. To wrap up, maybe, just maybe Hasbro will release a new line of Mighty Muggs; if they do we will keep everyone up to date with our New Mighty Muggs Guide!

Let us know what you think in the comments below. Would you enjoy seeing a new line of Muggs or are they past their prime?
