Wolverine is a superhero and mutant as well as a member of the X-Men, he first appeared in Marvel Comics The Incredible Hulk #180 in October 1974 created by Roy Thomas, Le Wein and John Romita, Sr. His character, known as Logan, forcefully underwent a procedure that infused his bone structure with adamantium which enables him to self heal, age slower and retract indestructible claws from his hands. Actor Hugh Jackman has portrayed the hero in many movies including The X-Men movie series, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine (2013).
